They say that :
"the only thing that you should never leave behind is your credit card"
And while that may be the case if you are happy to use motels and hotels, if you are camping it is a whole different story....

Go camping, you will love it!

So what do I consider a must have?

Obviously a good tent is the first thing. Some people say, oh no, use a swag. Personally, I like to have room to move, to put my bags inside with me and be comfortable if the weather is bad outside.

Bedding, chairs, cookers...

I like comfort. I have a bad back so the last thing I want is a skinny mattress. This means space is a problem, but to me it is worth it. I also value my fold up chair above most other camping items. I can sit and pack up my gear with no bending, sit and cook, put my boots on and more.

Security

There is no guarantee that you will have phone coverage everywhere you go, particularly if you are like me and like to go into the bush. So I carry a personal epirb. There are lots of other options available to give you some peace of mind.
